In high school, Lysander had a project in a class… I’m not even positive it was supposed to be shakespeare related… in any case, a wild and windy Wednesday night found three of us decked to the nines in rags and blacks - our faces painted grotesquely beyond recognition - cackling and chanting and prancing and hobbling around her basement tossing fillets of this and sweated venoms of that into a tub under a murky light… Never forgotten, oft repeated in my head.

My favorite was getting to bang on the furnace ducts until Mom turned into a witch with all the banging. Never thought I’d use a furnace for homework.
